Turkey Processing Day

Today we loaded up the two, extra tom turkeys and headed over to the Mocker's place for Turkey butchering day. Ellie and John have a nice pucker and volunteered to help dispatch and dress out the birds for us.

I readily accepted their offer as I have become quite attached to these birds. Plus, I've never processed turkeys before.

All went well. One bird weighed 13 lbs, the other 14 lbs. (dressed weight). Nice carcasses. Right on track for this breed. They were quite fat so I'll scale back a bit on their feed.
